<![CDATA[Senior Engineer (EUC) (ED12582)]]> /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=ED12582 /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=ED12582 About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our End User Compute (EUC) team at the 腦瞳憫 on a fixed-term basis to cover secondment, ending December 2025.

This role is primarily focused on supporting our annual Teaching Software Refresh, an essential process that ensures students and staff have access to the latest, fully operational software in teaching spaces and computer labs.

The primary responsibilities will include creating and maintaining Windows OS images and packaging software applications for deployment across the University.

While you will be part of a broader team managing end-user computing infrastructure, this position’s core focus is on the delivery of Windows-based software and operating system deployments.

Your role will include:

 • Creating, maintaining, and deploying Windows OS images for teaching and staff environments.
 • Packaging, testing, and deploying software applications in line with the Teaching Software Refresh schedule.
 • Ensuring software compatibility by working with academic departments and other stakeholders.
 • Using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune to manage deployments.
 • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain secure and up-to-date systems, applying patches and updates where necessary.
 • Assisting with licensing infrastructure management to ensure software functions as expected.

For informal enquiries about this role, please contact Peter Lewis (Principal Engineer EUC) at pdl25@bath.ac.uk.

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for a technical professional with experience in Windows OS deployment and software packaging.

You will need:

 • Practical experience with Windows imaging, deployment, and management tools (e.g., MECM, Intune, MDT, or similar technologies).
 • Familiarity with application packaging and testing for Windows environments.
 • A structured and methodical approach to documentation and process improvement.
 • Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues.

While exposure to macOS, Linux, virtual desktop infrastructure, or other end-user computing technologies would be beneficial, the focus of this role is Windows OS imaging and software packaging.
